Shia Community of Rio Grande Valley
Welcome to the Shia Community of The Rio Grande Valley!
In the Rio Grande Valley, we have a small community, but we all work together in organizing the events taking place all throughout the year. Since the community is small, all the events are held in our homes.
Generally, we meet once or twice a month for Dua-e-Kumail. We have majalis (religious gathering) in Ramadhan for Imam Ali's (AS) shahadat (martyrdom). We also have majalis during Moharram. During the first 12 days of Moharram, we have a majlis every day. Thereafter, there is a majlis on every Saturday until the Arba'een (40th day after Imam Hussain's (AS) shahadat).
